Home Image Kevin Gorter died in a car accident shortly after graduating from Duke University in 1987. He was the most energetic, compassionate, charismatic, humorous and empathetic young man you would ever want to meet.

To keep Kevin’s spirit and zest for life going, several of his closest friends started the Kevin Gorter Memorial and 2009 marks the 22nd  anniversary of this organization and its signature golf tournament.

A huge Chicago sports fan, Kevin’s biggest passion was hockey. The proceeds raised from this event benefit two organizations, the AHAI Tomahawks and the AIAI Diversity Hockey programs. These organizations allow handicapped and underprivileged kids the opportunity to play hockey. In addition, the Kevin Gorter Award is given to a Lake Forest High School JV hockey player who embodies Kevin’s love of the game.

We invite you to spend some time on our website to learn more about this organization and the work it does and we hope you will consider making a financial donation to the Kevin Gorter Memorial (501c3 status) or
donating a good or service to our silent auction and raffle.

People come to Chicago from all over the world every summer to be a part of this celebration, which includes two dinners, a golf tournament, a silent auction and raffle. The 2009 event will be Saturday, Sept. 12, at Deerpath Golf Course.
